Shady Oaks Learning Center

Program philosophy

Shady Oaks Learning Center was established to provide quality childcare in a home-like environment. The center is licensed by the State of Texas. At Shady Oaks Learning Center, we will strive to meet the needs of the children we serve. A learning center approach will be used to meet the developmental needs of each child. This will include physical, emotional, social, and intellectual skills.

The program we pursue is geared toward helping a child develop habits of observation, questioning, listening, and self-discipline. The program will give each child awareness of his/her own feelings and his/her right to express those feelings by acceptable means. Each child will learn that he/she is free to make choices as long as he/she is considerate of people and things.

Our program is open ended and will prepare your child to use his/her intellectual and creative abilities in future learning tasks. The program consists of many hands-on experiences. Including: Science/sensory, Art, Block Center, Dramatic Play, Music, Library, Table Games, Writing Center, some Cooking, Gardening, A big outdoor area for large motor skills, and some in house field trips. We are dedicated in making a difference in the world, through children.
